Beauty staples for your hands during the wintertime.

I think a lot of women are obsessed with trying to keep their hands smooth. If you have dry sensitive skin and live in a cold place like I do, then you’re probably searching for a way to keep your hands moisturized during the winter. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite hand products that I like to use to keep my hands soft and smooth during the winter months.

I’ll start off by mentioning the SuperGoop hand lotion that has a SPF in it. This is perfect to use year round and I mentioned it before on my blog here.  I keep this stuff in my cubicle at work and slather it on my hands every time after I wash them. I also put it on before I head out the door in the morning unless I’m wearing gloves that day.  Available here, here, and here.

Next up is this awesome hand scrub by Lush available here. Rub it on your hands dry or wet and then rinse it off. If you want a more serious exfoliant, rub it on your dry hands. My hands are always super soft after I use this and I’ll definitely be repurchasing this after it runs out.

Before bedtime, I’ll either apply this Aesop Hand Balm (available here) or the Liz Early Rosemary & Rock Rose Hand Repair (available here).  I think both of these hand creams work really well and I rotate which one I use depending on my mood. I love the smell of the Liz Earle one.

Last, but not least is the L’Occitane dry skin cream and their amande (almond) one (available here).  It comes in a small size that can fit right into your purse. Most people know that L’Occitane has awesome hand creams and I love stocking up on their mini size ones during the colder months here in New England. While I’m on the subject of travel size hand creams,  I should mention the Eos Travel Size Hand Cream that I brought on my carry on bag recently when I went to Antigua (available here).  I got mine at Target, so you can probably find it there in person too. I love the flip top on this which is very convenient for airports and airplanes.

Well that sure is a lot of hand products. I would definitely recommend the lush hand scrub and one of these lotions to keep your hands moisturized.

A honest review of Frank Body products.

When I heard about Frank Body products I became very excited.  A body scrub that claims to help reduce cellulite with good reviews had to be too good to be true.  I decided to order the Peppermint Body Scrub, Coconut Body Scrub, and the Body Butter.

The packaging is adorable and they really have great marketing as a business. I decided to try out the Peppermint Body Scrub first followed by the body butter. The peppermint scrub felt great on my sore muscles, but it’s such a mess to deal with. Coffee grinds get everywhere and are a huge pain in the ass to clean up out of every nook and cranny of your shower. Once I finished using up the Peppermint Body Scrub after a few uses, I gave the Coconut Body Scrub a go. I decided that I like the Peppermint scrub more because it tingles on the skin and helps relieve sore muscles as I mentioned before. The coconut scrub did not do that. Neither of them helped with any cellulite. The body butter is very hydrating to put on and made my skin so smooth. The consistency of it reminds me of other products sold to help reduce stretch marks. I can picture slathering this on if I was worried about getting more stretch marks during a pregnancy or something, but not for everyday use. I ran through the bottle very fast, so it’s not worth it from a cost standpoint.  My husband also thought I smelled like Pine Sol after applying it, so it’s not exactly what you’re looking for from a smell stand point. Unless, you’re married to Danny Tanner.  I’m still working on finishing my coconut body scrub because I paid for it, but dreading the mess it makes. I have found some other scrubs that I like a lot more that go right down the drain. They don’t claim to get rid of cellulite, but I’m pretty sure the only thing that can battle that is a healthy diet and exercise program paired with good genes. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be re-purchasing these products. I’ll be sharing more on the blog on scrubs I like soon.  I also need to update you all with details on my trips to New Orleans and Antigua. I’m hoping to get those in before the end of this month.
