Little White Dress.

My friends hosted a White Party at their house to celebrate the long weekend and it was a lot of fun!  They did such a great job decorating and the food was good too. It’s always fun getting together with friends for a party.

I wore this Twelfth Street white dress(was purchased on sale), with my Sam Edelman sandals, and MAC Matte Lipstick in Be Silly. I love this dress and these sandals because they’re comfortable and cute at the same time. I hope you’re all having a nice long weekend too and soaking up these last bits of Summer while they last.

A Summer Wedding in Colorado.

I spent the past weekend in Denver, Colorado for my friend’s wedding weekend. Kraig and I flew into Denver very late on Thursday night, so we went straight to our AirBnB rental to unpack and sleep.

We woke up on Friday PUMPED for breakfast at Jelly with friends. We were introduced to Jelly on our last trip to Denver and couldn’t wait to go back on this trip. My favorite things here are the jelly doughnut holes, Tres Leches Pancakes, and their amazing iced coffee.

After breakfast, some of us checked out what a dispensary was like since it’s such a foreign concept to us Massholes. That was an interesting and surprisingly fun experience for an adult. I was also able to get my hands on some Deschutes beers to enjoy on the porch of our rental.

After relaxing for a bit, we went to a wedding get together at Cheesman Park. Dinner that night was at Dos Santos which was SOO GOOD. The tacos were great and the bill was very affordable for a large party of 8 consuming cocktails, appetizers, and tacos. I highly recommend going here if you’re a foodie that loves Tacos.

Saturday was our day in the mountains. The plan was to do Bear Lake Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park with a group of wedding guests. Unfortunately, the park was turning around cars when we got there because the trail was too full. It may have been for the best because a lot of people in our group could feel the altitude sickness. We ended up just driving around the park to take in some views. We drove up Fall River Road and made a stop at The Alpine Visitor Center before heading out of the park out through the Estes area, through Boulder, with a pit stop at Avery Brewing Company. The food looked so good here, but we were on a timeline to get our Zipcar back, so we just sampled some beers.

This was a long day in the car, so we quickly freshened up before meeting friends at Torchy’s for dinner.  This place was really good and popular, but I liked Dos Santos more.

On Sunday morning, we grabbed brunch at Vert. This place was sooo good. Kraig and I shared the frittata,  L’ENTRECÔTE (Arugula, Skirt Steak, Walnut Mustard) sandwich, and a salted caramel cookie. The sandwich was out of this world and the salad accompanying the frittata was fresh and tasty.

We got ready for the rehearsal dinner, then met up with some friends at Crooked Stave Brewery.  This place is a sour beer lover’s heaven. I loved this brewery. We visited the Great Divide Brewery afterwards (not pictured below), but I didn’t really like the beers I tried there.  After the breweries, we attended the rehearsal dinner.

The wedding was on Monday night and beautifully located at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park.  The Bride and Groom had a ton of cute thoughtful details including home-brewed beer and Voodoo Doughnuts for dessert! They even provided free transportation to and from the wedding venue.

In case anyone is curious, my purple maxi dress that I wore to the wedding is by Flynn Skye (available here and here).

Tuesday morning we woke up early to catch our flight back to Boston. See you later Colorado. You’re always a good time!

Betsey Johnson Faux Pearl Collar Dress.

I’m in love with this Betsey Johnson Faux Pearl Collar Dress (available here, here, and here). I paired it with my sparkly J.Crew Gemma Flats and voila I had an outfit for work. I usually wear brights in the Spring and Summer, but it was a cloudy and rainy day, so this dress seemed to fit my mood. I would say this dress runs small in the bust because I got it in a size 6 and it surprisingly fits me fine in the chest/torso area. I’m usually swimming up top in a size 6 dress, so it was nice to have a dress that fits me perfectly all over! Don’t judge me on my hair/makeup. I woke up way too late on this day and had to get ready FAST. Story of my life.

I was inspired by PLL with this purchase! Mandi Line is my favorite costume designer and I’m so sad she’s no longer styling the ladies on Pretty Little Liars. If only I could get the shoes below too. So cool.

Burke Mountain Vermont ~ August 2015

I went back to Vermont a second time over the summer for my cousin’s wedding near Burke Mountain.  We spent Friday at Lake Willoughby.

Afterwards, we went to a post rehearsal dinner get together for the guests. It had drinks, pizza, and games and was very lovely.  I wore my Flynn Skye Bali print maxi dress available here. I got it on sale from bikinibird.com, but it looks like they’re sold out now. This is currently my favorite dress in my closet and can easily be dressed up or down. It’s super comfortable, but I wouldn’t recommend it to busty ladies. I first spotted it on Katrina of ToneItUp on instagram and then found it on sale! I’ve come to love Flynn Skye and hope to add some more of their pieces to my wardrobe over time.  I paired it with a cardigan and my Rebecca Minkoff mini crossbody bag available here and here.

On Saturday, we headed to Hill Farmstead Brewery. I would recommend going here if you or someone you’re with is a beer lover and enthusiast.  Make sure to get there early. We went on a Saturday right when it opened and the line was already long. There was a three hour wait for growlers within the first hour of opening. Do your homework beforehand and make a list of beers you’re interested in buying. Get there early and put in your order as soon as possible.  Then you can have some small beer samples while you wait for your order. I heard the employees suggesting to come on a weekday if you live nearby.

After the brewery, we got ready for the wedding which was so beautiful and a lot of fun! The food and wedding cake were also very tasty.

Here’s a picture of me with my Dad and brother. After looking at this picture, I’m realizing I don’t like these shoes with my dress.  I tend to change into flip flops as soon as the reception starts, so I didn’t think too much of it.

The bride and groom’s first dance.

Me with the beautiful bride! Liz looked so gorgeous and her dress had a slight sparkle/shimmer to it that looked amazing when she was walking down the aisle with the sun shining.

It was a fun weekend in Vermont with family and I’m so happy for my cousin and her husband!

Burlington, VT ~ July 2015

Kraig and I spent a weekend this past summer with our friends Liz and Dave in Burlington, Vermont. Liz has been my friend since the third grade and is married to Dave. They’re such nice people and fun to spend time with. We went up the weekend of the Vermont Brewers Festival and rented an apartment off VRBO.

Friday – Lunch at The Red Onion and Dinner at The Farmhouse Tap and Grill.

Saturday – Breakfast from Myer’s Bagels, Late lunch, appetizers, and watermelon beer from The Vermont Pub & Brewery , dinner was from various vendors at the Brew Fest. After the brew festival, we stopped by Lake Champlain Chocolates for ice cream and to purchase an assortment of chocolates to take home with us.

Sunday – Breakfast at Penny Cluse Cafe. This place is awesome to go to for breakfast and I highly recommend it if you’re in Burlington.

My other posts on Burlington, VT are located here and here.

A weekend in Nantucket ~ July 2015

Last year I had so much fun at my bachelorette party in Nantucket, so I decided I wanted to go again this year.  Kraig and I spent a long weekend there in July and stayed at The Barnacle Inn.  This is an affordable inn in a great location with friendly innkeepers. It’s walking distance to the downtown area where a lot of restaurants and shops are located.

We rented bikes on Friday and Saturday and biked to Cisco Brewery and a few beaches. You can get my striped long sleeve shirt here. It’s on sale for $24.99!

We spent Friday at Cisco Beach and then headed to the Cisco Brewery.

My hat is available here and here.

Blue Polarized Sunglasses available here, here, here, and here.

The second day was spent at my favorite beach in Nantucket. Surfside beach is the best because it has public restrooms, a big beautiful beach, and a snack bar with very good beach food. While we were eating our lunch, an older couple sat next to us and told us they came just for the burgers. So it’s not just beach goers eating here.

thumb_DSCN3008_1024So many places to grab lunch, ice cream, coffee, etc. are CASH ONLY in Nantucket. Make sure to pack lots of cash with you for your trip because they don’t have many ATMs there.  It was Kraig’s first time visiting Nantucket and he loved it too. Looks like we’ll have many more trips there together throughout our marriage. 🙂

The Details. I have to preface this by saying that I loved the food at all the places we ate at.

Bike Rentals from Youngs.

Lunch – Something Natural on Friday, Beach Bar on Saturday (so good), and Provisions on Sunday. Provisions is right near the ferry, so it’s a perfect place to grab a sandwich before you get on your ferry ride home.

Dinner – The first night was at The Proprietors. The food and service were great. They had innovative dessert that I didn’t care for, but the rest of the food was delicious. The second night was at Company Of The Cauldron.  This place was scrumptious and a very romantic atmosphere.

Drinks – Cisco BreweryThe Slip and Cru.

Ice Cream – The Juice Bar.

I can’t wait to go back to Nantucket next summer! 🙂
