Last January, a bunch of women I know (not all of them are in this picture) spent a night in Chatham for a friend’s Bachelorette party.
We stayed at The Chatham Bars Inn and enjoyed staying right near the water. Even though it was the middle of winter, it was still beautiful and a lot of fun. It was very affordable because it was off season, but I think the rates are very high during the Summertime.
I’ll spare you the boozy details of the evening and let you know that everyone enjoyed their dinner at Del Mar. We followed dinner with dancing to live music at a local bar in town.
The next morning we had brunch at the hotel’s restaurant and scared our waiter off by asking for refills of water and coffee every time he came to the table. I noticed the restaurant service here is consistently slow. Kraig and I went to their bar for a drink over the summer and experienced very slow service at the bar. We were ignored until we hunted down a waitress for a glass of wine. Fast forward to brunch in January and our waiter at brunch was very slow and put out when we asked him for a pitcher of water for the table. Since I was getting a good deal for my stay I wasn’t upset, but if I were a traveler spending a lot of money to stay there in summer I would probably get very upset about this. The concierge, staff, and our driver were all very friendly and helpful during our stay.
I think all the ladies enjoyed their trip and I’m happy the bride got to celebrate in such a beautiful part of Massachusetts! Here’s a view from the porch of The Chatham Bars Inn.
Definitely a great vacation spot. I didn’t get a chance to check out their Spa, but I hope to experience it one day.
