The winters in Massachusetts are really rough on my skin. If you don’t take proper care of your lips, you can get gross patches of dry skin on them. This can result in cracking and white gunk on your lips whenever you apply a gloss or lipstick. In order to prevent this situation, I’ve come across some great lip products to help during the winter months. I’ll admit I use these year round because drugstore chapstick always leaves my lips feeling like I need to reapply constantly.
The fresh sugar lip polish can be used 1-2 times a week. It works like an exfoliant. I simply rub a small amount on dried lips for a few seconds before going into the shower where it can rinse off.
Before bed, I always put Rosebud Salve on my lips. This product is amazing. I also put this on around my nose to prevent redness, dryness, and irritation during the winter from blowing my nose so much.
For the day, I like to apply a layer of the Fresh advanced lip therapy followed by a layer of Fresh SPF 15 stick. I’m currently loving it in the color honey.

How do you take care of your lips during the winter time?
What wonderful products! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you justinaluther. I’ve been using the rosebud salve for over a decade. It’s a must!
It sounds wonderful. Keep up the awesome blogging. (And if you get bored, feel free to check out my blog. I write short stories.)
Great post, I’ve never tried any of those products but they sound really good! I like to use Nivea and Vaseline products as I find them to be very moisturising on the lips and prevent them from getting chapped. x
Thanks Jade Amber! Oh yes, I carry around a mini vaseline in my purse just in case. I have a mini bag of lipsticks/chapsticks/glosses I carry around on most days. I’ve heard great things about Nivea too.
Rosebud salve is def one of my holy grail products! I’ve been liking Nivea kiss of smoothness to keep in my purse. I hate dunking my finger those pots on the go.
I know! I only keep the Rosebud Salve on my nightstand because it would be nasty to dip my hand in it during the workday or my commute. They sell it in a tube, but I’m convinced it doesn’t work as well as the the pot and it doesn’t last as long either.
