Getting Summer Ready.

Sweet summertime is approaching us in New England, so I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite Summer beauty products.  I’ve  become obsessed with Lush within the past year, so you will see a few of my favorite Lush products on this list of items.

Lush The Rough With The Smooth Body Scrub available here. This is a great exfoliating product for your body. I like to turn the water off in the shower, use it on damp skin, and then store it in a container with a lid. This is to prevent the running water from dissolving too much of the bar at once. This will make your skin silky smooth for Summer and is a fun treat for your body.

Kiehl’s Body Polish (not pictured) available here. This is another great exfoliating product for your body. I like to use it on the back of my arms for my Keratosis Pilaris, but it works great on your legs too. This smells very nice and is definitely a product that can be used year round.

Lush Pumice Power Foot Soap available here.  Like the body scrub, I like to keep this little gem in a container with a lid on top. I turn the water off in the shower, use it on damp feet, and then return it to it’s storage container with a lid.  Then I’ll turn the water back on to rinse my feet.  This will help keep your feet in good condition for sandal weather. After I get out of the shower and dry off, I apply the Lush Softy Foot Lotion available here to my feet. This takes the foot care a step further and helps keeps your footsies soft. I know feet can be easy to neglect, but you really shouldn’t neglect them.  No one wants to see your nasty feet in sandals. IMG_5315

I’m in love with the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Shimmering Body Oil available here, here, and here. I didn’t realize it was sold in a perfume too, so I ordered that recently and have been disappointed with it. The perfume does not have the same beautiful smell of the shimmering body oil and doesn’t last as long either. The shimmering body oil is the way to go. It smells like Summer or vacation in a bottle (sun, sand, sunblock in a good way). Yes, it’s shimmery and part of you might fear you’ll look like you’re at a middle school or high school dance in the 90’s, but trust me it’s not that overbearing. I love this oil and will slather it all over my arms, decolletage, and legs. It’s also the first time I’ve ever worn a perfume and have been complimented by a stranger in public on it.

Kevin Murphy Shimmer Shine Mist. Okay, I’ve definitely developed an obsession with Kevin Murphy hair products. My hairdresser introduced me to this brand and I wrote about some other products here. This shine mist just screams Summer. Shake the bottle and spritz some over your hair avoiding the top root area of your head. This can help tame flyaways, adds shine, and moisture. I think this could easily be used as a dry conditioner too.

What are some of your favorite Summer prep beauty products? I was thinking I should roundup some of my favorite sunscreens for another post! If you know me well, you know I LOVE sunblock.

  1. I bought the Bronze Goddess body oil (without shimmer) and the EDT several years ago. I wonder if the fomulation has changed and the EDT doesn’t smell as good now? I like to apply the oil after the shower to moisturize then top it off with the EDT. Layering of course helps it last longer. I’ll have to go sniff the current stuff to see if there is a difference!
