Fall will be starting in New England on Wednesday, so I thought a nice way to welcome the season would be to make some apple crisp. I baked up a batch of Joy The Baker’s Apple Crisp and then used Ina Garten’s recipe for vanilla ice cream. I think having an ice cream maker at home is seriously dangerous. It’s so easy to use and the results are so fresh. I think I’ll attempt a Salted Caramel ice cream recipe next time. I have the Kitchen Aid Mixer attachment to make ice cream at home and it worked pretty well. However, I felt the like the ice cream was a little too fluffy and borderline on the verge of whipped cream rather than the texture of ice cream. I have a feeling I did something wrong when following the recipe. Has anyone else tried this ice cream recipe at home?
