Recreating My Maternity Photos Makeup Look

A couple of weeks ago, Kraig and I got together in World’s End with our wedding photographer Kate McElwee for a maternity photo shoot. It was a cold and windy day so our hair is blowing all over the place in most of the photos. I didn’t want to push back re-scheduling the photos in fear of me becoming too big and uncomfortable for pictures. We love working with Kate. She’s so talented, down to earth, and makes you feel very comfortable in front of the camera. I wanted to share with you my makeup look from the maternity photos by re-creating it here on my blog and over on my YouTube Station. Click here to watch the tutorial!

Here are a few of the photos from our maternity shoot that Kate McElwee took.

Here’s some selfies I took today when I re-created my makeup look at home for a YouTube tutorial.

Bronzer Applied underneath cheekbones and edges of the face Benefit Hoola Bronzer in Light with the Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt Brush

Blush Becca Cosmetics Apres Ski Glow Collection Face Palette in Winter Berry. I love this palette! I smoothed the edges out with Zoeva 110 Face Shape Brush.

Highlighter Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in Pearl applied with fingers and Trish Mcevoy 55 Deluxe Blender Brush

Prime the Eyelids with NARS Pro Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base

I used the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette. It looks like the palette I’ve had for years is only sold on HSN now. Too Faced has updated the palette with some new colors on Sephora and Nordstrom. So I’m linking the original one I’ve had for years and used. I used the color Honey Pot along my lids/crease and Cashmere Bunny into the Crease with the Laura Mercier Angled Eye Color Brush. I don’t think this brush is made anymore, but I found some listed on ebay (here, here, and here). You could easily use your regular eye shadow brushes for this like the Mac 239 and Mac 219 Brush-I love these ones too. Next I put a spot of Heaven in the middle of my lid and blended it beneath my eybrows/above the crease with my MAC 217 Brush. This newer palette from Sephora looks almost the same as my original.

I lined my eyes in Sexspresso with my Laura Mercier Flat Eyeliner Brush(this looks like an updated version of the brush).

To brighten up the inside corner of the eyes apply Kevyn Aucoin Loose Shimmer Shadow in Kunzite.

To the bottom waterline Charlotte Tilbury Eye Pencil in Eye Cheat

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Waterproof Mascara used in Maternity Photos and Clinique High Impact Mascara used in Video.

Anastasia Beverly Hills #12 Brush and Benefit 3D Browtones in 04 Medium/Deep

Chanel Powder in 20 Clair and Smashbox Angled Brush.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk with Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Shine Lipstick in 101 layered over it.

P.S. Please excuse the random stain on my dress in the video. I swear it wasn’t there earlier today. It must be makeup.
